28 Week Baby G Update and Pregnant Lady Approved Healthy Cookies

Monday, April 14, 2014

Howdy Friends,

I hope your Monday is off to a great start. Mine hit the ground running with two back-to-back classes at 9:45 AM and 11:00 AM. It was rainy and cold outside but my students still brought their A-Game!

Let's face it, we all have cravings from time to time and sometimes you just need a cookie da****! When those cravings hit, try this healthy recipe to curb your sweet tooth without derailing your healthy eating. I've shared this recipe before on the blog, but it is totally worth sharing again! I made these little bad boys yesterday, but I am reusing an old picture below (yep, I'm being lazy). These 4 Ingredient Oatmeal Cookies are easy to make and totally prego lady approved.

Baby G Update

I feel like the bump has grown a ton in the last 2 weeks!

How Far Along: 28 weeks - 7 months in normal people speak and officially in the third trimester!

Size of Baby G: Annabelle is about the size of a head of cauliflower this week and weighs approximately 2.5 lbs.

Movement: Baby girl is still a mover and a shaker. She is getting so big now you can actually see my belly move when she kicks and punches. She doesn't seem to like it very much when I sit or lie still. As soon as I stop moving, she starts wiggling all around. I think this girl is going to come out a wild one! :)

Exercise: We are still hanging in their with exercise. The hips definitely protest most days, but nothing I can't handle yet. I am still teaching 11-13 classes a week and walking every day. Even though exercise isn't the most comfortable thing in the world, I feel so much better afterwards and I know it's helping with my energy levels and is good for sweet Annabelle!

Cravings: Bring on the watermelon and a lot of it! Like I said in an earlier post, I loved watermelon before I got pregnant, but now I seriously want to eat it all the time and would opt for all you can eat watermelon buffet over a real meal any time of the day. Since I know I can't get everything I need from watermelon, I eat other things, but not by choice. :)

Miscellaneous Fun: It's that time of the pregnancy where they test you for gestational diabetes. I opted out of the normal orange drink glucose test for monitoring my own blood sugar for a week using an at home testing device.  I just wasn't a huge fan of putting all that sugar in my body at one time, and I didn't mind pricking my finger 4 times a day for a week. It has actually been super interesting to see how different foods affect my blood sugar. I turn in my readings tomorrow, but based on the chart they gave me, I think we're in the clear.

That's about all that's new on the baby front. I am definitely to the point where I am pretty much over being pregnant and sooooo ready for her to arrive!
